With UKREiiF less than a couple of weeks away, as platinum event partners under the Pagabo Group we have an exciting brand-new addition to announce for 2025: the Social Value Matters hub.
Our social value experts have partnered with UKREiiF to bring the first space of its kind at the annual event – dedicated to engaging in discourse on social value and celebrating its impact through the built environment.
Talks to look out for
The Social Value Matters schedule has been carefully curated to explore a wide spectrum of social value themes – from the role of transport infrastructure (Wednesday, 9:30am-10:30am) and housing (Tuesday, 1:00pm-1:45pm) in unlocking opportunity, to driving equality and diversity.
Exploring the social value of regenerating city and community centres, we will also be hosting a thought-provoking fishbowl session on placemaking (Tuesday, 9:30am-10:30am), diving into innovative strategies to create lasting social impact while reshaping our urban landscapes.
The hub will host speakers from organisations making their mark in the industry, including the Construction Youth Trust (Wednesday, 2:30pm-3:15pm), Black Women in Real Estate (Tuesday, 2:00pm-2:30pm), Meeting Place (Tuesday, 1:00pm-1:45pm), and YEP (Tuesday, 12:00pm-1:45pm).
Former England Rugby player Tony Underwood will be in the hot seat on Wednesday afternoon (1:00pm-2:00pm) for an ‘in conversation with’ session with Social Value Matters host, Tom Snee of Cartwright. The interactive session will invite the audience to take part in a “social value scrum,” physically demonstrating need to break down silos and drive a collaborative approach to deliver impact.
As a highlight of the week, inspirational founder of not-for-profit initiative Women in Construction Renee Preston will be taking to our stage on Tuesday (2:45pm-3:00pm) to celebrate a landmark mentorship programme during UKREiiF that is driving change in the industry. The initiative is helping to provide mentor, taster days and 12-week training programmes for 100 talented female students attending UKREiiF.
Led in partnership with Gallaway Construction, we are proud to support the initiative with a workshop welcoming the students to explore the core principles of social value, unpacking what social value means, why it’s becoming essential to roles across the built environment, and how organisations are measuring its impact.
Simon Toplass, Group CEO at Loop’s parent organisation and 2025 platinum partner Pagabo Group, said: “Whether as a public sector body or those delivering development projects, social value is becoming increasingly vital across the built environment, especially with new procurement reforms and a growing emphasis on place-based impact.
“Working with the UKREiiF team to make sure the topic is firmly in the spotlight it deserves with this dedicated stage made perfect sense. The sessions reflect the broad scope of social value and showcase a diverse range of expert voices. I’m especially excited about the Social Value Scrum with Tony Underwood, which will highlight how everyone can contribute to meaningful community outcomes.”
During the week, Loop will also team up with AtkinsRealis to champion a community-led approach that goes beyond metrics, aligning closely with the National Procurement Policy Statement.
The Social Value Matters hub will offer more than just scheduled talks, including informal networking, and live software demonstrations showing how technology can unlock accurate, actionable insights.
A social value surgery is also open on Tuesday (3:30pm-4:30pm), offering exclusive drop-in sessions with Loop’s social value economists, where attendees can receive a personalised social value report.
Matt Christie, Director at UKREiiF, said: “Social value has always been an integral part of UKREiiF – whether it be putting it on the schedule or measuring the event’s own impacts.
“This new hub with Loop deepens that commitment and reflects UKREiiF’s evolution as a platform for driving real change. We know the sessions planned are really going to resonate with attendees – and we look forward to seeing everyone grow their understanding of just how much Social Value Matters.”
As platinum partner for UKREiiF 2025, Pagabo Group’s other organisations also have strong presence in the programme. The Pagabo Live Pavilion will play host to a full schedule of sessions throughout the three days, while contract management specialist Sypro will be putting the focus on driving contract compliance – also offering an exclusive competition to win tickets to this year’s Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
