Loop to evaluate social value of major UK infrastructure conference

We have forged a partnership with the organisers of the UK’s Real Estate Investment and Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), working together to evaluate the social value generated by the inaugural conference, which takes place next week (17 – 19 May) in Leeds.

Using our software, we will together measure and maximise the social value generated from the event, producing a report that will be the first social value report produced for a conference of this kind.

A great deal of focus has been placed on social value and the equality, diversity, and inclusion agenda for the event, with a wide range of activities planned to drive the overall positive impact of the event.

This includes the creation of more than 60 jobs in line with the event – 15 of which will be permanent – along with mentoring programmes, partnerships to deliver EDI-focussed events that promote the industry to under-represented groups and charity elements.

Angus Townsend, social value lead, said: “We’re incredibly pleased to be collaborating with the UKREiiF team to capture the wide range of positive activities happening around the conference, making sure that all quantitative and qualitative impacts are measured and maximised.

“As well as generating jobs, the event organisers are putting a great deal of effort into their plans to address positive strides for the industry, including providing more opportunities for under-represented groups, upskilling programmes and bringing mentors and students together to foster a positive, social value-centric and sustainable future – led by the opportunities across the built environment.”

UKREiiF’s first major event aims to bring together the public sector from across every core UK city and region with government, investors, funders, developers, housebuilders and more. So far, more than 5,000 in-person delegates have confirmed their places.

We will be leading activities across the three days in the Social Value Pavilion, with breakfast sessions allowing attendees to get involved with discussions around how best to maximise project social value creation.

Visitors will also be able to get hands-on with our software, which has just been completely re-coded and re-designed to enhance capability and user experience and has new integration with Pagabo’s procurement framework services.

Our software calculates the social, economic, and environmental impact of any project using a number of government-approved analysis frameworks. Since its inception, we have been involved with evaluating more than £26 billion in social value generation, and now works with industry-leading clients including Sir Robert McAlpine, Suez Recycling and Network Rail.
