Hi Miça, please could you tell us about your role as Product Owner at Loop?
The role of the Product Owner is one I like to describe as a sort of translator from the end user to the development team. I have to accurately interpret the ideas that come from different channels, such as customers, internal stakeholders, or new best practices in the social value space. Then, I prioritise them and feed them through the development process, working with the UX team and developers to refine and perfect the feature to meet the requirements. Finally, I’ll track the success of the feature once we’ve released it, assess feedback, and ensure it is working as intended and making our customers happy!
Very impressive! What did you do before joining the company?
I was a Business Management student living in Newcastle. I joined Pagabo Group as a Marketing intern during my year in industry, and after completing my course, I came back to take on the Product Owner role for Loop.
What is your favourite part of your job?
Working with the stakeholders, design team, and developers to create the best version of the features that our customers want to see. Following an idea through from that initial conversation to the end result is very rewarding, and I’m quite lucky to be one of the people who gets to see that full process from start to finish.
How about when you’re not at work, what do you get up to in your spare time?
I really enjoy cooking and equally enjoy going out for meals too. I’ve recently started baking and decorating cakes, mainly for friends and family, but I’ve just started an Instagram page to post and promote them. I find it very relaxing and love seeing people’s faces when they open the cake box!
Favourite film and why?
The Cat in the Hat. I’ve loved Dr. Seuss books since I was young, and The Cat in the Hat has got to be the best film version of them. It’s great fun, and I find myself laughing at different parts now as an adult than I did when I was young. Also, the visuals in the film are so satisfying, and the costume and set design are great.
Great choice! Where’s your favourite holiday destination?
Maybe Greece. I went to Mykonos on a hen do, and I just had the best time. It was a great mix of partying and traditional Greece. The Greek islands are just beautiful, and I’ve already planned a trip next year for a friend’s wedding.
To finish off, what would you say makes Loop stick out from the competition?
It’s the user journey and visuals. We often get compliments on how easy Loop is to use and how great it looks. Social value can be a pretty confusing concept, so Loop prides itself on making the app as simple to use as possible. Features such as our ‘popular metrics’ list allow you to see which metrics are a good place to start and take a lot of the heavy lifting out of the process.
We appreciate you taking the time to speak with us. Keep up the great work!
